Introduced in France by Grandes Roseraies du Val de la Loire in 1919 as 'Jean C. N. Forestier'.
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1921 as 'Jean C. N. Forestier'.

Hybrid Tea, Pernetiana.  

Carmine-red, orange-pink shading, yellow shading.  Strong fragrance.  Very large, full (26-40 petals), borne mostly solitary, globular, open bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  

Bushy, upright.  Glossy, bronze-green foliage.  

Height: up to 39" (up to 100cm).  

USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Can be used for cut flower or garden.  Hardy.  very vigorous.  Protect tender new spring growth from hard freezes that may cause canker, die-back and death of the plant. .  Remove spent blooms to encourage re-bloom.  Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.  Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood..
