Origin:
Bred by Rudolf Geschwind (1829-1910) (Austria-Hungary (former), before 1895).
Introduced in Germany by Johann Christoph Schmidt / Blumenschmidt in 1895 as 'Schneelicht'.
Class:
Hybrid Rugosa, Shrub.  
Bloom:
White.  Average diameter 2.75".  Medium, single (4-8 petals), in small clusters bloom form.  Once-blooming spring or summer.  
Habit:
Armed with thorns / prickles, bushy.  
Height of up to 9' 10" (up to 300 cm).  Width of up to 6' (up to 185 cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 4b through 9b.  Hardy.  very vigorous.  can be trained as a climber.  
Notes:
'Schneelicht' is single. If offered with double blooms, it is usually 'Mme Georges Bruant'.
