Despite low hip set from manual pollination (and no OP hip set in the last 2 or 3 seasons I've had it) and average/low germination it has raised a high percentage of seedings that are near non stop bloomers that set OP hips to almost every flower while maintaining it's health (but less formal bloom, still high petal count but more messy like old blush...no balling though yay).....so despite it's difficulty there's potential merit in breeding with it as it's seedlings pick up the health and foliage easily and are much more fertile on average.

I got this rose this spring 2016. Yet it won't bloom. The leaves are flawless and the plant is as tall as I am. I have fertilized it yet no buds?

Any ideas anybody?

Maybe hold off water. It works for citrus trees.

Maybe try a high potash low nitrogen fertilizer?

Not sure but it's a theory: Mine went nuts both in height and number of blooms and my garden is one of those strange "very alkaline" soils. I think there is limestone mixed in. Hydrangeas always pink, etc etc. Maybe this rose wants alkaline?

did it repeat bloom for you? For me after the initial lenghty spring bloom which ended in July..It had scanty blooms. compared to 100's of blooms there were 3 or 4 blooms here and there. I am curious as the description states blooms in flushes, that has not been my experience

Hello
Yes after the initial slow start Madame Anisette is doing great. Beautiful clusters of roses that bloom in flushes. It did take 2 years.

I think this rose needs an Excellent ++. Out of about 200 Rose's, this is the only truly disease resistant rose I have. Foliage beautiful, and lush. Was an own root, that did not flower much until it hit year 3. Then flowered like it was on steroids. Plant gets very tall and needs support, mine is close 7ft. It Is surrounded with Rose's that have blackspot, not a spot on this plant. Only downside is flowers are so densely petaled that it can ball if rains continuously. Fragrance for me is moderate, soft and smells like anise. Colors start of peach, turns pink and then becomes creamy. Best rose plant I have ever had. Very happy with it

The captions on your photos say "Sugar Moon", but you've posted them under 'Madame Anisette'. You might want to double check the photos. :)

Tend to agree that the only issue for most will be the balling.

If from an area that get's extreme heat (44c/110f) the leaves will pretty much all scorch...but that temp is an extreme that the vast majority of people won't have to deal with.

Possibly also height and how it's fairly vertical/column in shape but that's nitpicky and depends on intended use.

Seedlings from it are better than average for health but often have a some spotting dependent on other parent.

Thank you! We can get close to 100 degrees here. But I am just so happy that it does not get any black spot. All my Rose's have black spot. I suppose balling and height is easier to put I up with as it is out weighed by vigor, continous blooming, fragrance and excellent rose form

Does produce seed if pollinated, no OP seeds for me. Did bloom a lot and there were bee's about, possibly too petaled for bee's. Germination rate has been pretty low though so if planning on using pollinate a few extra flowers than you think you'd need.

Apart from the leaf scorch the leaves have been clean. Even now, almost winter, with the leaves turning yellow there's no spots. Most everything else is spotty and yellow.

Canes turned mahogany brown in winter. Also pretty much thornless for the last third of canes but pretty thorny at the base, if paired with low thorn or thornless would not be surprised if the majority of seedlings were thornless.
