Breeder's notes:
Though both parents are climbers, this rose is a large shrub, or, at the most, a small climber.
This rose has been named for our very dear friend Rose Voelcker, who lives in southern France. We came to know her as we are members of the Lily Group of the Royal Horticultural Society and Rose is the Membership Secretary. Of the Lily Group. Correspondence about lilies and other plants, including roses, led to us visiting her, in her beautiful home called ’Lanjique’ and she visiting us. In our southern Indian home. Our friendship has grown stronger over the years, and when this rose appeared, we wanted to name it for her. But she thought about it, and after consulting with her family, wrote to us that she would prefer the rose to be named ‘Lanjique Rose’ since then both her name and the name of her beloved home would be included. And so it came to be.
