Bred by Eugène Verdier fils aîne (France, 1863).
Introduced in Australia by Thomas Johnson in 1866 as 'Joseph Fiala'.
Class:
Hybrid Perpetual.  
Bloom:
Dark cerise-red, shaded purple with whitish edges.  Mild to strong fragrance.  Medium to large, full (26-40 petals), cupped bloom form.  
Growing:
Vigorous.
