Notes:
A found rose distributed in Germany, said to be of US origin, but without confirmation from US sources.
Rudolf Bergmann, states in his rosenwiki that this rose was discovered ca. 1938/40 by the gardener Charly Smits in Maine in a neglected garden with large hedges of 'Louise Odier' and 'Russelliana' planted by German immigrants around 1900. The found seedling is said to have been distributed in the region by Mr. Smits and brought several years ago to Germany by a Mrs. Schmitt of Füssen, Baviera.
Raphaela Langenberg, on the other hand, relates on her website l'age-bleu" that the rose was received by rose breeder Jürgen Weihrauch from USA. She supposes Rosa centifolia and Rosa setigera in the parentage.
