Found Rose, Hybrid Perpetual.  
Bloom:
Red or geranium-red, lighter reverse.  Bristly or glandular pedicel.  Moderate fragrance.  Double (17-25 petals) bloom form.  
Habit:
Armed with thorns / prickles.  Light green foliage.  
Patents:
Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).
Notes:
Possibly planted by Captain Olsen who captained the Murray River boat, Brewarrina 1903 and/or the Success in 1918.
The rose was growing in the Swan Hill, Victoria garden when his home was purchased in 1922 by Elizabeth Newell’s grandparents.

Suckers a little.
Long oval leaves

Bush spindly on its own roots.
