Introduced in Netherlands by Peony Shop Holland in 2022 as 'River Rubicon'.
Class:
Hybrid / Species crosses.  
Bloom:
Light yellow.  Frilled and ruffled petals.  Average diameter 6".  Medium to large, semi-double to double bloom form.  Early-to-early mid.  
Habit:
Upright.

Named for a river in northeastern Italy. The phrase 'crossing the Rubicon' meaning committing oneself irrevocably, derives from Roman history: in 49 BCE, Julius Caesar provoked a Civil War after he crossed the river with a legion of troops as part of a successful but illegal power grab.
