Perth, Western Australia; Spring. This rose has many prickles and the leaflets are also distinctive - there are a lot of both. Leaves are rather languid looking, with undulating edges. Many leaves have 7 leaflets. It produces a lot of balled or spoiled blooms in our conditions, but when the flowers open well they are very lovely - especially when they have the faint blush along the petal edges. The buds can be upright, but the blooms end up looking at the ground. Hope you can see the prickles clearly in this photo as they are impressive!
