Arvid`s garden, Lista, southwestern coast of Norway, June 2009. This was the only rose growing in my garden when I bought the house in 1983, and about the only one apart from the wild species growing in the area that can really stand up to the strong salty winds from the North Sea. People tend to be annoyed with this rose because of its profuse growing ability with suckers popping up where they are not wanted. In my view a far worse scenario is a rose that doesn`t want to grow at all no matter what you do for it. This is a favourite.
