Thank you again! Yes this was really facinating. I guess one of the smartest things I have done in my garden is to build the gazebo. In a country where you never know when it`s going to rain and when there will be sunshine, it is good to have roof over your head. I also plead guilty to being an outdoor freak, who takes every opportunity to spend time outdoors in my garden. In a country where winters are much to long, even though they are rather mild here at Lista(disregarding of course the last one); and consequently are confined mostly to indoor activities for months on end, it is really a must for me.(I hate skiing)

It almost sounds like you are describing where we live in Oregon :-) Our summers are relatively dry, but wet at any given moment the rest of the year. Looking online at the weather websites it seems we are about the same, all except for the wind of which we have little except during a storm. They list you having about 35 inches of rain a year and we have about 40 inches...

I also noticed looking at the maps (as the crow flies) you're not awfully far from where the Danish side of my family were from (they emigrated to the US in 1865). They were from Baelum Parish, Aalborg, N. Jutland, Denmark (if I'm not in the gardens I'm busy working on my genealogy - another addiction/passion of mine :-) I've always hoped one day to visit the area, it looks so beautiful from photos I've seen.

As to being an 'outdoor freak', yeah, I'm guilty too! And skiing - I've never tried but the kids (now adults) love it...

Congratulations, you seem to have done some good weather research! Since I didn`t notice any part of the sea in your photos, I figured you would live somewhere in the interior of the state, which is why I thought you would have colder winters. A member in Thunder Bay posed me a question about the weather here ,figuring it to be very cold, being in Norway. She wanted to try out climbers and ramblers like mine. I guess she was surprised to find out it was rather mild. We agreed on the Canadian Pacific Coast, around Vancouver or so, for comparison.

You are right. Aalborg is not very far from my place. As a matter of fact I am also of Danish decent. My paternal grandfather was Danish - from the island of Møn, south of Sealand. So if you are " in the neighbourhood" you are more than welcome at my place.

Thanks so much for the invite :-) Who knows, maybe one of these days I can get over that way! And of course if you are ever in 'my neck of the woods' please know you are also happily invited!

Thank you. Maybe some day. You never know. In the meantime I will enjoy your photos here from time to time.
