The W. K. Kellogg Commemorative Rose Garden at Cal Poly Pomona on 6/22/10. The garden was designed in 1926 by landscape architect Charles Gibbs Adams as part of Mr. Kellogg's Arabian Horse Ranch in Pomona. The wheel pattern, with 8 "pie" pieces, still exists today but the roses are different. Some of the original roses were Hadley (46 were purchased!--Adams thought it was the best red rose up to that time and it was also the name of the town the Kellogg family once called home), Paul Neyron, Los Angeles, Radiance, Mrs. William C. Egan, Red Radiance, Columbia, K. A. Victoria, Duchess of Wellington, Mme Butterfly, Mme Edward Herriot, Miss Lolita Armour, Padre, Paul's Scarlet, Queen Mary, Rose Marie, Souvenir de Claudius Pernet, Souvenir de Georges Pernet, Papa Gontier, Lady Hillington, Gen. McArthur, William F. Dreer, and Cl. Caroline Testout.
