New growth on Mrs. Doreen Pike is a striking lime green--which rapidly changes to dark green. First buds on a baby plant which came from Heirloom Roses, Oregon last year. Very tough and easy care plant. Infrequently given a small amount of fish emulsion. Tolerates inland southern California heat and sun quite well, zone 9b. Soil is sandy loam and alkaline (as is the water). No soil amendments used.
