'Candy Mountain' is a sweet little shrub rose that wants to be a miniature. Created by John Walden of Bear Creek Gardens in 1998, we only just recently (May 2014) had the pleasure of meeting this tiny hot pink look-alike of the floribunda Playgirl. Its parents are said to be a cross of Sweet Chariot x seedling. They say the blooms measure 1-1/2 or 2" but this one measures a petite, almost micro-mini size of 1" flat out. Perhaps it will gain size as this 1-gallon baby grows up and out. The bush is touted as arching to 2 feet and low growing. We don't detect much fragrance on it yet, in fact Modern Roses 12 says "slight fragrance", but it is obviously producing clusters of blooms.
