gorgeous, I've loved foxgloves from I was a little boy. We were taught to put the fallen flowers on our fingertips and we would be blessed with the cunning of a fox.

Did it work? And did you ever have problems with being chased by beagles?

Not only toxic, but digitalis was used as a heart-medicine too and later on synthesized.

HA HA HA ! I was bulletproof as a boy, the only thing that got me was flu. On sat. morning I would leave the home in the early hours and appear back just before dark. Exploring, climbing trees, chewing and tasting everything, making campfires and cooking brook trout. I forage seriously now, for wild mushrooms, for the table and my self-medication regime. We didn't know about digitalis in those days and they were like a bygone age. No TV or internet, not even a phone. Bliss.
