Super Star  rose photo courtesy of member ThomasR

This is the late October bloom of a South-facing old plant. This rose looks great against a stone wall. The flowers are huge in Spring, insignificant during the hottest days of summer, big and beautiful, with something decadent that I wouldn't ecpect from an orange rose, during Sepetmber/Fall period. I think the picture doesn't do justice to the color of Super Star. It is not a vitamin, carrot orange. It is almost fluorescent, but sweet and lavish at the same time. The flowers are heavy, deep, sometimes globular. The foliage is beautiful in spring, dense, with small leaves of different sizes, but on this one, which is not treated, it seems to to be constantly damaged or eaten by insects.
