Rosa corymbulosa Rolfe. I’m growing two different plants from seed distributed by a Rosa researcher at the Beijing Forestry University. Both are alike and bloom in corymbs with up to three flowers. Some references indicate the flowers are numerous “up to a dozen blossoms” but Smithsonian herbarium specimens display only one or two per stem. The corymb structure is best seen in the fall after the hips have matured. Photos taken 10-23-2023 at Rose Woods in the Mayacmas Mtns. near Petrified Forest, California.
