I have .43 acres surronding a 190 year old house in NW CT, at the foothills to the Berkshires. I grow a couple hundred roses, abou half of which are in containers. I grow shrubs, HT's, climbers, floribundas, rugosas, and a few old garden roses. Over a period of 20 years I have landscaped the property and have added perennial borders mixed with shrubs and roses, clematis, mounain laurel, trees including japanese maples, magnolias, japanese stewartia, tree hydrangea, variegated Norway Maple, robinia pseudoacacia "freesia", a koi pond, and a conservatory which is home to my parrots, an umbrella cockatoo, catalina macaw, cherry-headed conure, and African lovebird. I retired early and can now devote more time to the garden which is always a work in progress. This year I enlarged the koi pond from 1200 gallons to about 2,000 gallons, added a waterfall, and have landscaped it with native rock and boulders.
