Would it be possible for HMF to add a notation to a member's garden listing for roses that have died? It might be helpful for others to know which roses did not make it in a particular garden/location. Perhaps disease overwhelmed them, the climate, water, or soil wasn't to their liking or maybe it was just an accident. In any case people could inquire as to the cause. Also, I wouldn't mind having a way to keep track of the roses I've grown in the past that were not a success and knowing what has or hasn't worked for others.

Thanks!

Melissa

A great idea. The gardener could describe in detail the conditions so that others could learn from that. There are a lot of variables, but any information about soil type, light, water and nutrition would be really helpful. In one case, I've put culture notes as comments on a rose in my garden in the hope that it helps someone [or if I'm entirely honest, in the hope it persuades someone to grow that rose : )]
