Firefighter rose is my favorite for bouquet, last more than 4 days if cut in buds. One bloom can perfume the entire room.

A bouquet picked on Halloween, Oct. 31, with big pink Evelyn at the top, yellows are "Honey Bouquet" and "Arthur Bell", middle pink is Francis Blaise, bottom pink is Sonia Rykiel, lower left is "Mary Magdalene", white is Bolero, and dard red is "William Shakespeare 2000".

Excellenz von Shubert rose blooms well in partial shade with glossy foliage. Glossy foliage roses demand more water. I fixed the planting hole with lots of pine bark (pH 4) and gypsum so that rose won't turn pale in my pH 7.7 heavy clay. Very healthy for the past 3 years, zero diseases nor pest, sweet musk scent.

Since the 2004 drought, I put professional thick plastic edging from Home Depot to retain water and keep the grass out. It works better than the hammer-in green edging from Lowe's. Both are shown in this pic.

Early June, 2016 bouquet from my garden. W.S. 2000 is the center dark red. The best scents are Wise Portia, Duchess De Rohan, and Radio Times.

This is my Double-Blue Rose of Sharon. It blooms non-stop for 5 months from June to October. It's 6' x 3'. No fragrance and no thorns either.

Le Nia Rias rose in front of red peony, that Centifolia rose sends suckers all over my lawn, even before forming buds.

Francis Blaise is planted next to a tomato, which took most of its nitrogen - but it blooms well, mulched with horse manure. This is taken mid-October after frost.
