This formal display garden features a beautiful Victorian style gazebo with elegant brick walkways leading in from 3 sides. On one side a perennial border with palms provides a backdrop for the roses; two other sides are set off by mature large-flowered magnolias underplanted with English ivy.

To protect the health of the zoo's animals and visitors alike, the roses are grown completely organically. Clippings are collected in special barrels so they can be fed to the animals. Varieties have been chosen for their disease resistance and generous bloom and include both antique and modern shrub roses. A visitor can expect to see roses not often seen in the usual rose section of a botanical garden.
