Cheryl, I just love how most of your photos fade to black (just got a chance to look), that is the background is almost completely black. I have taken pictures of roses and digitally blacked out the background so I could make collages. But your pictures are flawless and as far as I can see have not been digitally touched up. Just love them. William

William, Thank you for your kind comments. I very seldom have to touch up the backrounds. I'm pleased that you like my photos. I'm sometimes trying to give the rose maximum effect. I also take many normal garden shoots but at the moment I am in this mode. If you would like details on the black background then contact me by email. Cheryl

Hi Cheryl, how is Glamis Castle performing in the hot summer sun? Is it one that needs to be protected from those hot northerly winds we sometimes get? I live in Melbourne - would appreciate any info on growing this rose.

Hi JanineN, I love 'Glamis Castle' however it is fairly fragile and in the wind the flowers only last a day or two. I have a very mild winter where the days are about 20 degrees and the nights never get colder than about 3 degrees and I find that it is much better over the cooler months from the end of March until late November. Hope this helps. Cheryl Moore
