Might this rose be Sweet Lavender? Found in Portugal.

It is going to rain here tomorrow, so I will stay inside and search my bookshelves for any more references on ‘Sweet Lavender’.
Are there any more photos of the foliage and stipules? Could it be Veilchenblau growing in a very fertile soil to bring out that colour?

Over here the soil ain't very rich, but has a relatively high pH. (8)

I have added a few more references Jay-Jay.
It seems ‘Sweet Lavender’ may have been bred from ‘Crimson Rambler, however in the 1917-102 reference the author George Paul 1841-1921 talks of his son, George Laing Paul 1869-.... breeding Psyche, Tea Rambler and Sweet Lavender from Crimson Rambler, but also Lady Godiva and Goldfinch - and HelpMeFind has, at the moment, other parentages for these last two. So I am not too sure of ‘Sweet Lavender’s parentage.
Have you looked at ‘Hauff?

Hauff (alas no photo's) has medium sized flowers, but these are definitely small.

Almost no prickles. Only a very small number on the lower part of the thin canes.

Jay-Jay, a couple more details will help.
The average bloom size? (Veilchenblau is said to be 1.5” and Violette 1.25”).
The season? Early, mid or late. (Sweet Lavender is said to be early, Bleu Magenta is said to be late).

The photo's were made on June 11. Didn't measure the flowers (would have to in cm next season), but those were small.
