[From Les Amis des Roses
[From A Rose Odyssey
, by J.H. Nicolas, p. 16:] ...Pierre Bernaix sold his business to his head grower, J. Ducroz....He developed neurasthenia and became obsessed with the fear of death. He gradually began to "enjoy poor health", always imagining an ache or a pain somewhere, and much of his time was consumed in doctors' offices...He died in 1935, probably, as his friends said, of too many diets ("une indigestion de régimes")!
