Adam Paul (May 12, 1780 Daviot, Aberdeenshire - ca. November 1847 Edmonton, Middlesex)
Adam Paul, of Huguenot descent, founded the nursery at Cheshunt in 1806. Dissolved September 29, 1860. Succeeded by separate nurseries of his sons George and William. George William continued on the site of the "Old Nursery", while William moved to Waltham Cross.

George Paul, eldest son of, and many years partner with, the late Adam Paul, and of late years the senior partner in the firm of A. Paul & soon, respectfully informs the public that the PARTNERSHIP IS NOW DISSOLVED, and that in future GEORGE PAUL will carry on business in Cheshunt Street, as usual, under the name of PAUL & SON.
