James H. Veitch (1868—1907) was an heir to the Veitch nursery and plant exploration dynasty founded in the early 18th Century by an earlier James Veitch at Killerton, near Exeter. With his brother, John Gould Veitch, Jr., he ran a nursery business at Chelsea, Coombe Wood, Langley and Feltham under the name of James Veitch and Sons, LLC.
