[From Herts and Essex Observer, May 21, 1987:] Colin, aged 53, a former teacher and now a senior education welfare officer for Hertfordshire County Council, said that after sorting out 2,000 seedlings over two years at home in Rainsford Road, onyl five usually showed merit....he's chairman of the Amateur Rose Breeders' Association.
