Great pic. First season for me with two own-root plants. Healthy for me, and now some repeat bloom in the Fall. Have you had good repeat bloom?

Many thanks! I still have not this rose in my garden. But I will plant them for sure soon.
The photo was taken in the Rosarium Sangerhausen. I'll see today whether the rose blooms there repeatedly. I'll report. ;)

Hello HonzaPM,
the Rose "von Scharnhorst" has a repeated flowering. End of July I was able to discover several flowers on the shrub in the Rosarium Sangerhausen. Pictures will follow.

It would be the same rose, listed as a Deutsches Danzig.

I no longer grow this cultivar but was informed long ago that a possible identification is 'W. Freeland Kendrick', also known as 'Bloomfield Endurance'.
Interesting these are listed as climbers with a height of 39"?
The height sounds correct for "Mr. Pomeroy's Rose" It certainly did not climb for me, but had a rather lax habit of growth.

Hi Robert,
I have planted this rose in my garden. Unfortunately, I can only compare with the pictures of W. Freeland Kendrick '. The flower shape is identical, even the color of the outer petals.
My Mr. Pomeroy does not show such intense shades of red in the middle. Possibly this is also climate-related and dependent on soil.
Mr. Pomeroy is growing strongly. Unfortunately, the shoots often freeze in winter. Otherwise the plant would certainly be a higher climbing rose.

In Sangerhausen grows a different rose with this name...see my pictures.

In this case is Sangerhausen wrong!!!
This is definitely the correct plant!!!.
Pruhonice (Vecera 1973) is a shrub with hybrid tea like blooms, which start first as deep rose buds, ageing into clear pink mature blooms, fading into light pink spent blooms. Pruhonice inherited the shape of buds and blooms after its mother - hybrid tea Message.
This photo was taken directly on Vecera´s former workplace - Botanical Garden in Pruhonice. After his death was the rose garden lead by his co-worker and co-breeder Mrs. Latova, who guarantees its authenticity. Substitution is not possible....
We´ve already discussed this problem some years ago, someone has already posted in here photo of Sangerhausen´s wrong plant. The semi double clear pink plant grown there might be "Pozdrav z Pruhonic" bread by Zeman in 1928. You may compare it with a plant grown in Doblhoffpark.
