According to the Pradel family genealogy and the father's birth certificate (which I received a copy of from Dominique Massad in France), the father of Giraud Pradel was NOT Henri but Etienne Pradel.

The habit of the French not to name the first names really complicates things. There seem to have been many Pradels in Montauban and probably at least two family lines in the nursery business. Geni states
Etienne Pradel (18th century)
Pierre Pradel (b. April 16, 1800), his son, nurseryman, married to Jeanne Marie Esther Pradel (née Douzalz) - rose 'Esther Pradel'?
David Edmond Pradel (b. November 21, 1836), their son, nurseryman - rose 'David Pradel'
married to Zelia Augustine Stéphanie Vidaillac (b. March 12, 1843) in 1860 - rose 'Zélia Pradel'

Around 1858, a Pradel aîné (elder brother) and Géraud Pradel jeune are mentioned as nurserymen. These could be two brothers. Was David the elder?

What are the names and dates on the info given by Massad?

My name too is French, originally, 'Ribouteau".

It was anglicized around 1700 and very difficult to live with since.

Well, if rose names (and even breeder codes) can be changed, so can yours...

I've thought about it.

It's expensive and complicated.

The current iteration is character building if nothing else.

Why is the Noisette 'Marechal Niel' not listed under Pradel's roses.?(An earlier pink HP, now lost, is listed. Why isn't the surviving one?)

There is a Note in the Marechal Niel page which may answer your question.

The color is incorrect. The rose is a somewhat tawny color.

You list no nursery for this rose, but according to Combined Rose List 2018, 'Pasadena Tournament' is sold by Burlington Rose Nursery in Visalia, CA.

Thanks Darrell. I have added them to the list of nurseries that stock this rose. Actually the file for Burlington Rose Nursery was showing it was last updated in 2009. (Now updated as of today’s date after my addition). Surely Burling updates it on a regular basis? All nurseries should of course. Unfortunately it is a task that is well beyond the scope of the HelpMeFind volunteers.

I realize this is very late, but as I'm going through Burlington Roses's list, I see that while they have 'Pasadena Tournament', they class it as "Climbing Floribunda", which leads me to believe they don't have the bush form.
