Florentina on the upper left; The Prince's Trust upper centre-right; Sweet Delight front centre. Mixed in behind Sweet Delight are buds of Anastasia. On the very far right edge are Awaking (upper right) and Princess Charlene de Monaco (centre right). Just out of sight to the right are Peace, Parole, Earth Angel, and Super Dorothy. Once I finish getting the wire trellis connected, and tie Florentina up properly, I'm planning to run Senegal up the corner from a half barrel, just out of sight in this pic. This north and east facing corner of the garden is one year old. Photo taken June 14 2023.

Like all of this color---still----not without its foibles. Measured against its qute modern peer, Barbra Streisand, I would say Neptune is the better, healthier, easier bet. The plant looks fat and thick and tough and more or less is (for the color). Loves to cluster bloom. Fragrance is amazing. Reads like an improved Sterling Silver all around in my opinion. And also in my opinion, the 2 BEST of this color? 50 years old: SILVER STAR and LADY X. Only issue is that they have no fragrance but very much in my experience the 2 most healthy, solid "mauves." Paradise (also fragrance free) is a winner but is less healthy. Angel Face may be the most unqiue of them all but is an ugly plant and very tender to cold.........Lagerfeld is more important as a parent and Fragrant Plum is GOOD.........this color has come very far in some ways, really hasn't evolved past 1966 in many others..........and for anyone who LOVES this color? You absolutely must grow Sterling Silver. You just need to "meet" it...........legendary, and not as awful as many say.............

3rd year own root, grows the same as budded in my opinion.....such an unlkely release in 1976! So few Poulsen roses got released in the US yet Armstrong took this one on 37 years ago.........the opening color is lovely, very clear bright orange juice orange, then it does that 70's "color change" into shades of salmon, pink, dusty red............it is a tall Floribunda in my opinion, or a shrub, but 37 years ago GR was assigned.........
