I can't see the option to change the advanced search from the default "or" to "and." I'm using Chrome. Is the option still available? It's hard to use the search without it. Thank you!

Within a specific group, say CLASS for example, the OR condition is used. Every class you select will be included. From group to group, say CLASS and COLOR the the selections for the two different groups must both be met, ie AND.

For example, selecting CLASSES hybrid tea and floribunda along with COLORS white and cream will list all roses that are either hybrid tea OR floribunda AND at the same time white OR cream.

Yes, there are some advanced search groups where being able to specify AND or OR could be useful but that would make for a potentially difficult/confusing selection process as you would have to provide for a grouping mechanism to handle the use of both OR and AND together. Often, keeping it simple serves the largest audience.

I will ask the development group to consider the possibility of adding an "expert" mode in the future as that software is scheduled for a rewrite soon. Suggestions for improvements are much appreciated.

Could you provide an example of a specific search you like to be able to perform?

Thank you for answering! :-)

In the advanced search, many of the red "?HELP" buttons pop up with information about how to change it from "or" to "and." I added a screencapture of one of these to my initial post. I was confused because I was not seeing the option to change as it indicated. The search example given in there is a good one...being able to search for more than one kind of disease resistance at the same time.

Thanks!
