This rose looks too pink and round. Most Charles de Mills are burgundy or beet-coloured and very flat.

It still looks too pink but that could be the camera.

Those are superb photos of a great rose. After declaring your 'Charles de Mills" too pink I went out to visit my own plants. I was shocked to see them just as pink as yours. Not only that, but a quick check of 'Belle Herminie' revealed that it too had turned rather pink. We had just had our first rain in a couple of weeks and I wonder if this color shift from dark maroon/purple to pink is a result of the hydration.

BTW: the photo to the left is the color I would expect to see.

That's what I was wondering.
I can set my camera to 'warm', 'cool' or 'normal'. I have learned the hard way that it's important to maintain true colour for identification purposes!

I meant no disrespect.
It's important to maintain colour consistency with photographs because identification can be difficult.
