Lady Mary Fitzwilliam rose photo
Rose photo courtesy of HubertG
'White Lady' photograph by J. Horace McFarland from the book 'How to Make a Flower Garden', 1905 edition, page 309. Although this photo is not of 'Lady Mary Fitzwilliam' but its white sport, I thought it was worthwhile posting it here because of the wealth of clear detail provided.

Florence Pemberton rose photo
Rose photo courtesy of HubertG
From 'The Weekly Times' newspaper (Melbourne, VIC. Australia), 26 June 1909, page 48. The accompanying text reads "FLORENCE PEMBERTON. The rose bush, Florence Pemberton, was pruned by Mr Simpson, in his garden at Surrey Hills on June 19. Photographs of it, before pruning and after, showing the amount of cutting back alone were specifically taken for "The Weekly Times". Florence Pemberton is a magnificent hybrid tea rose. The color is creamy white, suffused with pink. The edges of the petals are occasionally tinted with a flushed peach hue."

Papa Gontier rose photo

Rose photo courtesy of HubertG
From 'The Weekly Times' newspaper (Melbourne, VIC. Australia) 26 June 1909, page 48. The caption reads: "PAPA GONTIER BUSH. Papa Gontier is one of the best decorative tea roses in cultivation. The color is rosy crimson. The bush illustrated is growing in Mr Simpson's garden at Surrey Hills. It contains a greater amount of matured wood in first-class condition than is usually met with. The bush was pruned on June 19 by Mr Simpson. Special photographs of it were taken before and after the operation, for the purpose of illustrating this article. Mr Simpson is regarded as one of the leading rosarians in the State and his pruning work on the bush may be regarded as an expert object lesson."

The seed case of that seedling. It was rather a small one, I thought.
