Grown in zone 5b NH. Very hardy and vigorous once established. Spectacular first flush, after which it completely defoliates from black spot. I would not recommend in a humid climate.

Moore did live in a hot and dry climate. I think his climbing minis are some of his best introductions, but I hesitate to try them in BS central.

It’s a wonderful rose amd will remain in my garden as one of the few that I’m willing to spray with fungicide. I also grow Red Cascade which is equals or exceeds Magic Dragon in bloom production and has been remarkably BS resistant for me.

I'm curious about the z. 4 designation. First year in a fairly mild z. 5b winter and only an inch or two of the canes above the soil line survived. K&M, which I consider borderline tender, fared much better
