As a child I grew up with a big garden and lots of roses, but I was not involved in that. My first own experience with plants were cacti, for which I still have a soft spot. And I always loved roses - I bought my first ones when I had some of them in big pots on the patio of my flat when I was young. But I dreamed of a garden. When we - me and my husband - bought a small house with a big wilderness around it (what once had been a garden), it was a huge opportunity to fill an ugly, neglected place with dreams of colour and scent.
We are well aware that most garden designers would frown at our beds and borders, but it is an ever-growing, ever-changing landscape of our own dreams, following no trends, but only our taste, ideas and our growing experiences. I am blessed with a husband that had no garden experience, but was more than willing to jump on that wagon and bear my addiction.
