My favorite rose of all. Mel’s Heritage blooms 9 months out of the year here. It only pauses while building up its tremendous spring flush.

Photo taken 5/19/19 in my S California garden. Baronne Prevost has been a great rose here, beginning with her spectacular spring flush, and continues to bloom throughout the summer and fall. There are still a few blooms today, 11/3/19. No disease in my dry climate, but the little green caterpillars love this rose.

June 2019 in my zone 10a garden, S California. Mel’s Heritage has gotten huge! I cut back canes of 30 feet + often, just to keep it from taking over. Zero disease, wonderful scent, and grows like a house on fire here. A few stems make an instant bouquet. Mel’s Heritage apparently loves my hot dry climate and rich alkaline clay soil. I couldn’t ask for a better performing rose for my conditions.
