Wow ! what a nice rose. I would like to tell you, I found in the early spring a new hybrid of this rose. Rosa amblyotis x Rosa fedtschenkoana. Like your DLFED roses hope to get one in the future.

It's very beautiful. Someone should consider breeding it's spots into modern roses.

See 'Helga Brauer' which has a different parentage, but it is spotted and recently bred.

Helga Brauer looks to be a good one too, although the spots aren't quite as dramatic. At least it's available in Australia.

Take a look at the Gallica's Alain Blanchard (Coquerel, 1829) and Cavalli form Pirjo Rautio ( Finland )

Hi Jeroen, Where did Your Little Gem come from? Eilike Vemmer and Hella Brumme (former director of Sangerhousen) are writing a book about old roses and are digging for info about Moss-roses. Dag Jeroen, Waar komt Uw/jouw Little Gem vandaan?

Thank You! I'll wait and see. Another-one on HMF had bought a specimen at Schultheiss: Rosana in Germany and the hips look a lot like the hips of my rose... very prickly.

Hallo Jay-Jay,
Groeten Jeroen,
