Gallica / Provins, Hybrid China.  Red, violet shading, ages to violet .  Strong fragrance.  Medium to large, very full (41+ petals), button-eye, expanded bloom form.  Once-blooming spring or summer.  USDA zone 4b through 9a.  
Height: 3' to 7' (90 to 215cm).  Width: 3' to 39" (90 to 100cm). Pierre Jean Louis Roëser (1829).
