Smoke covered the sky, and all photos take on an odd orange cast. 'Mel's Heritage' can be this apricot in a cool spring, but after a boiling hot August, the color should be paler, and pinker. But the plant is beginning yet another flush of bloom, though I have not deadheaded. 'Mel's Heritage' is an AWESOME rose. AWESOME! Uploaded 12 SEP

Mel's Heritage Rose photo courtesy of Jeri Jennings This isn't really the whole plant. The shot was taken looking up at the underside of the arbor, from below the steps leading up to it. The plant is just opening buds on the outside of the arbor, but there is presently all this bloom UNDER the arbor, where you walk, brushing close to you for an intense dose of the fragrance. It does show how well-foliaged it is. 'Mel's Heritage' is really a traffic-stopper.
