I come from a family of gardeners; my grandmother was a gardener of note in New Orleans who had her sons mail her seeds from the Pacific during WWII. On her last outing to the Audubon Zoological Gardens she stole some cuttings and tucked them into the wheelchair; earlier in her life she routinely stole stuff from their compost pile (and remember it is a zoo with varied and fragrant compost). I began with passion vines in an apartment and now have roses and fruit plants. I also began in New Orleans but am now in Austin.
I garden in containers, and cope with chickens, dogs, and inconstant weather. I want to learn grafting, so if anyone near Austin, TX knows it I'd humbly learn from you.
