I had written in December, but it has been quite busy, and I'm sorry for the delay in getting back in touch. I would be interested in hardwood cuttings, if available, from any of these: 1-72-1DLFED3; 0-47-19Poo; Ice Cube; Probable Amhiploid Self Seeding. Thanks for considering! If available, I could trade or cover postage.

Hi Matt, no problem. "Life" definitely gets in the way sometimes. Of those requested, I only still have 0-47-19Poo (Anne Belovich). What is currently growing out back is listed on my garden listing here. https://www.helpmefind.com/gardening/l.php?l=3.22025&tab=2
If it's Fedtschenkoana hybrids which interest you, there are several which aren't listed on Help Me Find. There are two, if I recall correctly, from the Pink Petticoat X Fedtschenkoana, plus those remaining on the garden listing above. And three ramblers from 0-47-19DLFED X Tom Thumb, one of which is rather tiny with double pink flowers and shorter growth. It's rather "ferny". The other two are larger ramblers. One with single, red-orange flowers in large clusters and a double pink in large clusters. I have self seeds from all three if either cuttings or seeds from them are of interest. Thanks! Kim

Thank you so much for your kindness towards a fellow hobbyist. Yes, I'd be interested in seeds or hardwood cuttings. I am comfortable working with both, but not with softwood cuttings, which I don't have a good misting/etc. setup for.
If available, I'd be interested in cuttings from Anne Belovich, IHTXLB Fed, and any of the 0-47-19DLFED x Tom Thumb (self seeds or cuttings should work). I'm also very partial to multiflora- and wichurana-type ramblers, and have been seeking opportunities to grow more of them. If not too much, I would be interested in cuttings from any of: Pink Clouds, De la Grifferaie, IXL, and 42-03-02.
Obviously that's a number of requests, and I don't want to impose too much on your generosity. If only some of this is available, then that's certainly very appreciated too. Thanks again. If anything I grow is of interest as a trade, let me know...and if not, please let me know what to cover for shipping and how to get that to you.

Kim--Thanks for looking into these. I'll wait to hear back from you.
I've been involved with growing fruit and nut trees for years, most especially chestnuts, which I've grown and worked at hybridizing. But working with roses has been a more recent interest, mostly within the last two or three years. So my stock is more limited, and you are correct about me not having a garden listing on the HMF website. I do have a "cuttings available" page, but it's not too comprehensive or really up-to-date.
If it all survived the winter, I should currently have R. wichuriana 'Basye', Red Dorothy Perkins, Gardenia, normal Dorothy Perkins, TAMU 90-1C, Belinda's Dream, Playboy, Tiffany, Camelot, Red Masterpiece, Dr. Huey, Moser House Shed Rose, R. setigera, a bunch of F2 R. wichuriana x polyantha hybrids from Dr. Zlesak, 2A91 (an unlisted setigera hybrid), and Therese Bugnet. And a family heirloom rose that my wife believes may be Queen Elizabeth. But a lot of those are small, and some are even still in my 'hardwood cuttings bed' awaiting transplant out this March or April. I also have large plants (definitely suitable for cuttings) of Zephirine Drouhin, Iceberg, and a rose that's probably R. palustris...not a particularly pretty clone, but near and dear to my wife and I for sentimental reasons.
Anyhow, some of that is too young and small, but if you're interested in cuttings from the larger stuff, let me know. And thanks for letting me know if I can get any of the types I mentioned from you. Please let me know how to cover postage, if you are able to send cuttings/seeds.

Thanks, Matt. I've been cleaning out the dead and tons of Bermuda grass from that area. We're now in a rainy period, the first real one of the season, which is nearly over. I will get back to you as soon as it dries out enough to get into the yard, but I expect there are some suckers as well as cuttings to send. Thanks!

Hi. I see you don't take private messages.
I was hoping you would be interested telling me a little bit about a project I want to start.
You see, I want to create a rose that combines the foliage fragrance of eglanteria/rubiginosa with the incense scent of prinula, and the piney scents of fedtschenkoana, and ideally I want to get some good moss that brings out all of those qualities.
My starting pointing point will be Quatre Saisons Blanc Mosseux x Applejack. I am hoping to get most of the fedt. genes and rubiginosa genes with moss right there.
However, I have been told that foetida has fragrant foliage, as do beggeriana, agrestis, and some HPs and hybrid chinas. Supposedly R. carolina has mossy buds, and so does multiflora?
I would love to hear your thoughts because I have been told that you could probably write a textbook on this subject.
I also hear that you grow fedtschenkoana?
My dream would be a thornless moss rose with the above characteristics and a modern HT bloom in a deep lavender color. That seems so similar to some of the things you are working on. I saw you made a cross of International Herald Tribune x Oila Banks x fedtschenkoana. That is exactly the sort of thing I am very excited about.

Hi, it's a fully modern floribunda which flowers as constantly as any other floribunda should be expected to where you grow them. I have found it to be completely disease resistant in both the San Fernando Valley, north of Los Angeles and here in Santa Barbara County, Santa Maria, nine miles from the Pacific Ocean. Of course, how it may perform where you are is unknown, but it has been extremely healthy, usually in flower and very fertile for me in those two climates. (10a and 9a, California). Good luck! I think you may find it a fun, interesting and pretty rose!

You're welcome! Actual salt from the ocean, probably not, but if other roses grow well in your conditions, this should have as good a chance as any.
