'MACtemaik' rose References
Book  (1998)  Page(s) 105.

Nola Simpson. Review of Newer Roses for 1997-98 Season.
Michelangelo (MaCtemaik); orange red & cream stripes; 5 reports on 5 plants; 1-3 years; 1.5 metres. 8.0 rating. Another rose with a difference, a striped floribunda from the house of McGredy and so far well received. The striking orange red and cream markings are not quite as bizarre as in 'Oranges & Lemons' and the plant is very strong with dark foliage which enhances the blooms. Northland says the colour is growing on them, healthy with good repeat, has show potential. Auckland growing for the first time and has already shown it successfully, good dark foliage which is healthy and withstands disease from other bushes, striking coloring. North Otago says superb coloring, very healthy and repeats well. Golden Bay says very striking, grows tall, slow repeat. Manawatu reports the healthy dark foliage enhances the striking flowers, makes both large and small stems with good conformation for showing, the best striped floribunda to date and worth growing.

Michelangelo (MACtemaik); orange red & cream stripes; 6 reports on 6 plants; 1-2 years; l-4 metres; 7.8 rating. A new striped floribunda from the house of McGredy and so far well received. The striking orange red and cream markings are not quite as bizarre as in 'Oranges & Lemons' and the plant is very strong with dark foliage which enhances the blooms. Napier received champion small stem with it, novel colour, masses of flowers and very healthy. Kaitaia says it attracts attention, holds colour well. Feilding can find few faults, and Napier says it creates lots of interest. Northland finds slow repeat of flowers, striking colour. Manawatu lovely dark foliage red when young, clusters of flowers both large and small have very good conformation for showing, mites seem to fancy it and the repeat is slow to date, prefer to 'Oranges & Lemons' colourwise. Promising variety.
