Origin:
Bred by Olaf Soenderhousen (Denmark, 1960).
Class:
Floribunda, Shrub.  
Bloom:
Dark red.  Mild fragrance.  Medium, single (4-8 petals), cluster-flowered bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:

Height: 16" to 20" (40 to 50cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.

Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).
Notes:
In their 2002 Catalogue, Pépinières Loubert says the 'Crimson Velvet' they offer is a dark red Floribunda which came from Sangerhausen.
