Origin:
Bred by Alister Clark (1864-1949) (Australia, 1941).
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1941 as 'Mrs. W. R. Groves'.
Class:
Hybrid Tea.  
Bloom:
Dark red.  Mild to strong fragrance.  Semi-double (9-16 petals) bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Can be used for garden or hedge.  
Patents:
Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).

Notes:
Proceeds from the sale of this rose were donated to the Kyneton Horticultural Society.
There is some doubt about the veracity of the rose in commerce in Australia. Refer 1997 reference.
'Mrs. W. R. Groves' was said to be semi-double, had short petals and "good foliage". It was brilliant in hot summer weather - February and March in Australia.
