At the age of 25, Charles Lindbergh made the first nonstop solo flight from New York to Paris on 20-21 May 1927, in a tiny silver monoplane called the Spirit of St. Louis. Charles Augustus Lindbergh was born in Detroit, Michigan, on 4 February 1902. He died on 26 August 1974 in Hawaii.
