Origin:
Bred by Marie aka Veuve (vve, widow) Ducher (1834-1881) (France, before 1880).
Introduced in Australia by C. F. Newman and Sons - Adelaide in 1894 as 'Cécile Brunner'.
Class:
Polyantha.  
Bloom:
Pink, light pink edges, yellow undertones.  Moderate, apple fragrance.  30 petals.  Average diameter 2.5".  Small to medium, double (17-25 petals), in large clusters bloom form.  Continuous (perpetual) bloom throughout the season.  
Habit:
Short, thornless (or almost), well-branched.  Light green foliage.  

Height: 2' to 4' (60 to 120cm).  Width: 2' (60cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 5b through 10b.  Shade tolerant.  Disease susceptibility: very disease resistant.

According to Weeks Roses 1999-2000 Catalog, p. 13, this rose is most known along the Pacific Coast. Parentage is given as R. multiflora x 'Souv. d'un Ami'.


This rose is included in the World Federation of Rose Societies Old Rose Hall of Fame. The Old Rose Hall of Fame recognizes roses of historical or genealogical important and those roses which have enjoyed continued popularity over a great many years.
