Hi, I purchased this rose in Canada. I think it would be great for breeding. The tag said "northern Canadian rose". I thought it was Therese Bugnet but it is not. It looks to have some rugosa in it. The leaves are similar to Therese but the stems are green and the shape is altogether different. It is very hardy with only tip damage in my zone 3b/4. The flower is a clear pink and the fragrance is rich crisp rose. It is disease free and suckers are few and close to the trunk. It has the best repeat of any rose I grow. It is never without bloom and it is the first rose to flower in spring and blooms until heavy frost. No hips but very thorny. I find it is my favorite roses for my zone, a real bloom machine.
