I have a question for anybody who can reply, what are the grounds for classifying a rose a shrub? For example: Bouile's Dream; both of the listed parents, seed and pollen, is the Hybrid Teas, Folklore, yet Boulie's Dream is listed as a shrub. Why does it not follow the parents classification? I could see if one the parents, seed or pollen, was a shrub that it would be classified as a shrub, but since both parents are hybrid teas why does it not follow and be classified as a hybrid tea?
Along the same vein of question; How and when does a rose get a America Rose Society classification. Hopi Girl is an example. An great yellow rose that is in constant bloom and has good form with possible good show qualities but not recognized by the ARS.
