How many flowers count as a second flush? There are two blooms almost out and two showing colour, five have flowered over the last couple of weeks and another five yet to come. This rose usually attempts to rebloom in September but usually by then it is too cool and wet, this year has been exceptionally hot and dry and it has started already.

I planted this rose 2 years ago it is over 1.5 metres high. I struggle with hybrid-teas and floribunda types which gradually wither away with blackspot. This rose however is completely healthy and has shown no sighs of disease at all. It tries to have a second flush but the weather usually is too cold by then.

shouldn´t agnes be denominated as "species cross" and therefore be given a scientific name?

Not necessarily. Persian Yellow may itself be a hybrid. Its parentage is uncertain. The rose sold in North America as Persian Yellow is a triploid, suggesting it is a hybrid.

Dr. David Zlesak found that 'Agnes' is triploid.
