Introduced in United Kingdom by Keynes, Williams & Co. in 1894 as 'Anne of Geierstein'.
Introduced in Australia by George Brunning - St. Kilda Nurseries in 1896 as 'Anne of Geierstein'.

Hybrid Rubiginosa, Species / Wild.  
Bloom:
Dark red.  Strong fragrance.  Average diameter 2".  Medium, single (4-8 petals), borne mostly solitary, in small clusters bloom form.  Once-blooming spring or summer.  Leafy sepals buds.  
Habit:
Climbing.  Fragrant foliage.  7 leaflets.  

Height: 8' to 10' (245 to 305cm).  Width: 8' (245cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Very vigorous.
